- Firstly it illustrates life as a journey.This journey is different for everyone, and the further we travel through life, the more we learn and discover about ourselves.
- Secondly the road is used to reinforce that before we can continue to progress on our life journeys, we must first acquire information and knowledge to be safe
- Once we have sufficient information, we can make informed, health affirming decisions that will enable us to progress further down our individual roads

'The Sexuality Road - Discovering Me' - Week 1, Term 2, 2011
'The Sexuality Road - Discovering Me' programme has been designed specifically for Year 7 students and is the main teaching resource that is used at Rotorua Intermediate School. The resource uses the analogy of a road for the following reasons:
